Davor Čengija

I'm a coach. Before that, I was an engineer. Before that, I was probably already coaching people and just didn't have a name for it.

Davor Čengija, PCC

The shift happened gradually. I spent years leading teams, consulting executives, and helping organizations redesign how they work. At some point I noticed that the most valuable conversations I was having weren't about processes or strategies. They were about the people making the decisions, and what was getting in their way.

So I built my practice around that, helping people think clearly about the things that matter most.

What I bring

I approach problems the way an engineer approaches a system: find where it's breaking, understand why, figure out what to redesign.

Over 20 years I've worked across sectors and situations that don't usually land on the same CV: IT transformations, agile adoption in HR and finance, coaching management boards after major investments and mergers, innovations for international sports federations. I supported a $60 million scale-up through the transition from a technology-selling company to a market-driven product organization. I've been inside a company as it grew from 30 to 300 people, building culture and process from the inside while doing the same for clients on the outside. Along the way I built and led a coaching team of 12 from scratch.

I hold an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential, ORSC and Co-Active coaching training, and Scrum Alliance certifications.

What I actually do

I optimize leaders' conversations, among themselves and with everybody else.

In practice, that means I help people who are good at their work but stuck on something that competence alone won't solve. Maybe that's a decision they keep postponing, or a dynamic they can't shift, or even a transition they know they need to make but can't see clearly from the inside.

I won't tell you what to do. I don't have a playbook for your situation, and I'd be suspicious of anyone who claims they do. What I bring is an outside perspective, the right questions, and enough experience with organizational complexity to understand what you're actually dealing with.

How I work

Direct. I won't let you talk in circles for six sessions before we get to the real issue. I also won't pretend I have the answer, because I don't. But I'll help you find yours faster than you would on your own, and I'll hold you to it.

Currently

I coach leaders and professionals across Europe, virtually. If you want to talk, book a discovery call here.

I keep 10–20% of my coaching capacity for pro bono work, mostly with people in NGOs and social impact organizations. If that's you, get in touch.
