What to Expect From a Session

What happens

You bring something real: a decision you're stuck on, a dynamic that's draining you, a situation you can't see clearly from the inside.

We talk but not the way you talk to a colleague or a friend. I ask questions designed to surface what's actually going on, not just what's visible on the surface. I challenge assumptions, I notice patterns you might not see because you're too close to them.

You do the thinking, I help you think better.

By the end, you'll have more clarity than when we started. Sometimes that means knowing what to do next, sometimes it means understanding the problem differently. Both count as progress.

What to expect from a co-founder session

The dynamic is different from individual coaching. I'm not coaching one of you while the other watches. The relationship between you is the client.

In the kickoff, you each complete a frustrations assessment independently, in the session. Then we surface everything together, discuss it openly, and decide what's worth acting on. It can be uncomfortable. That's the point. The discomfort was already there, just unspoken.

In the follow-up sessions, we track the backlog you agreed on and deal with new tensions as they come up. Every session ends with clear actions.

I won't take sides. I won't mediate. I'll hold the space for a direct conversation that you haven't been able to have on your own.

Co-founder sessions are 75 minutes.

What I don't do

I don't give advice. I won't tell you what I would do in your situation. I don't know your situation well enough for that, and even if I did, my answer wouldn't be yours.

I don't mentor. I won't share war stories or hand you a playbook from my own career.

I don't let things drift. Every session has structure. We don't spend 60 minutes circling. If you're avoiding the hard part, I'll name it.

What helps

Come with something specific. "I feel stuck" is a fine starting point, but the more concrete you can get - a decision, a relationship, a recurring problem - the more useful the session will be.

Be honest. The conversation only works if you say what's actually going on.

Be open to being challenged. I'll ask uncomfortable questions. That's the point.

Between sessions

After each session, I'll share relevant frameworks, exercises, or resources when they fit what we're working on. Not busywork, only things that move the thinking forward.

The real work happens between sessions. You take what we discussed, test it in your actual context, and bring back what you learned. That's where the change comes from.

The practical details

Sessions are 60 minutes, by video call, one-on-one, bi-weekly in most engagements. We start every engagement with a structured intake so we don't waste the first sessions figuring out what to focus on.

If you want to know what the different engagement options look like and what they cost, that's all on the services section of the main page.

If you're ready to have a conversation about whether this fits, book a discovery call. Twenty minutes, no cost, no commitment.
